Mariner in disaster clean-up
The Pride of Sidmouth lifeboat, powered by twin Mariner OptiMax 135hp engines, assisted in the search for containers washed from the stricken cargo ship MSC Napoli. The ship ran aground in January off the Devon coast carrying potentially dangerous chemicals. The Pride of Sidmouth discovered nine containers drifting along with large amounts of debris which they identified and reported to the Coastguard Agency. Barrus were also on hand providing technical support throughout the Pride of Sidmouth’s call out.
